Wait, Tony Stark? Isn’t He… You Know, Dead?

Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark died a hero’s death back in Avengers: Endgame, and RDJ’s big, splashy return to the franchise is as the villain, Victor Von Doom, not as a resurrected Iron Man. So when Harbour points at an imaginary co-star and declares them to be Tony Stark, in character, in a Russian accent that belongs to Alexei Shostakov (a.k.a. The Pedro Pascal Grudge Match Nobody Asked For (But Everyone Wants)

Per Yahoo/CinemaBlend-adjacent coverage and a separate Yahoo write-up on his Entertainment Tonight appearance, Harbour revealed he’s been “mad” at Pedro Pascal for three decades — ever since the two attended a theater program together as teenagers and Pascal, even back then, walked away with the lead role.
Pascal, for his part, is joining Avengers: Doomsday as Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic, meaning two actors with a genuine three-decade-long grudge (a friendly one, presumably, but a grudge nonetheless) are about to share scenes in the biggest superhero crossover of the decade. If the Russo Brothers have any sense of humor whatsoever — and given their track record, they clearly do — somebody is writing a Red Guardian/Mr. Fantastic scene into Avengers: Doomsday purely to weaponize that real-life tension.
Just How Big Is “Big,” According to a Man Who Survived Five Seasons of Stranger Things?
Harbour has never been shy about hyping the scale of Avengers: Doomsday, and honestly, at this point, the man deserves a hazard-pay bonus for enthusiasm alone. At Rose City Comic Con, he told ScreenRant (via MovieWeb and FictionHorizon) that he’d “never seen anything like” the production before, marveling at a literal wall of director’s chairs, each belonging to an A-list actor with their own trailer. He compared the layered comedy-and-drama tone of Avengers: Doomsday favorably to Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War — no small praise from a man whose entire Marvel arc so far has mostly involved dad jokes and a Widow’s Bite.

Officially unverified but widely floated reports — including a “leaked script” document circulating on file-sharing sites — claim the story pits a returning Stark figure against a corrupted, Doom-wielded Time Stone, complete with a twisted “Captain Hydra” variant of Steve Rogers. Treat that with a healthy dose of skepticism; it reads like exactly the kind of elaborate fan fiction the internet produces in the vacuum Marvel’s secrecy creates, and it hasn’t been corroborated by Variety, Collider, ScreenRant, or any other outlet with actual set access.
Avengers: Doomsday is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, with the follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, arriving roughly a year later. Marvel’s reshoots reportedly wrapped earlier this year in London, with Harbour telling ExtraTV he was only needed for “a couple of days” of additional filming.
